Juan Fernando (known as Jota- the letter J in spanish) was born in Quito, Ecuador. He moved to the U.S. during High School and spent about 12 years in the U.S. where the Lord totally transformed his life. During his time in the U.S., he saw himself as an Ecuadorian missionary to the US and was involved in a variety of ministries and jobs before he saw the Lord calling him to leave the U.S. From doing mortgage loans and using his resources and extra time to start a Bible Study for hardcore/punk kids in Burtonsville MD, to traveling all over the U.S. doing evangelism with Onetruth Clothing and Stand True ministries or even leading few short term trips that ranged from the Ecuadorian deep jungles to the concrete jungles of skid row in Los Angeles. Juan received a Bachelors degree from The Master’s College, took a Special education certification through NILD and is currently working on an MDiv and a Master’s of Biblical Counseling. He has passion is for evangelism and discipleship and longs to see the Ecuadorian church grow strong in carrying out the full extent of the Great Commission.

Maris is from the States, born in Harrisburg, PA and went on to live in several states after that. She came to know the Lord right out of high school. From there, the Lord lead her to study at Word of Life Bible College and The Master’s College. She has earned her bachelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling and has had training in NANC (National Association of Neuthetic Counseling) as well. She has a desire to help establish true biblical counseling in Ecuador, especially in the local church. This is a great tool for evangelism and discipleship as she has been able to establish relationships with high school girls at Alliance Academy and with women from La Fuente.
